Nicola Fordham joins MAXIS GBN as Director of Underwriting

MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN), the international employee benefits joint venture between MetLife and AXA, is announcing the appointment of Nicola Fordham as its new Director of Underwriting.

Nicola joins from MetLife UK, where she was Chief Pricing Underwriter which included being responsible for the technical relationship between MetLife UK and MAXIS GBN. In this role, she led a 25‑strong team of underwriters and was responsible for their ongoing training and development, managing risk controls, and developing relevant tools and procedures.

Her experience at MetLife UK also included building and delivering training experiences for employee benefits associates and consultants throughout the UK. She was named as Pricing Underwriting subject matter expert for product development projects including MetLife adding flexible benefits to its product offering. 

Before joining MetLife UK, Nicola built a successful career in life and disability underwriting working with Unum, Generali and Zurich. Her responsibilities have included developing pricing tools, building company underwriting manuals and managing extensive client portfolios.
