SIIA International Conference 2026

Navigating complex healthcare challenges in the MENA region

The MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region faces a complex mix of healthcare challenges, from rising medical inflation and uneven access to care, to a growing burden of chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity. Employers are looking for new ways to improve employee health and deliver more inclusive benefits across diverse populations.

We’re pleased to be joining the SIIA International Conference 2026 in Dubai from 26–28 January, where global leaders in captive insurance, healthcare and self-insurance will gather to explore the latest healthcare trends and challenges in MENA and beyond.

Kicking off the content sessions on Wednesday 28 January at 8:45am, Dr. Leena Johns, Chief Health and Wellness Officer at MAXIS GBN, will join Dr. Neil Gordon, CEO and Medical Director at Intervent and Dr. Shafiq Shaikh, Claims and Medical Network Director at MetLife Gulf, in a panel discussion moderated by Jaqueline Oliveira-Cella, Founder of WellBe Consulting.

The session will explore how employers – particularly those writing EB via a captive – can address the complex mix of healthcare challenges in the MENA region. They’ll discuss how data, innovation and inclusive design can help address chronic conditions, reduce risks and support better health and wellbeing across diverse workforces.
